What is your earliest memory?

What age were you?

For some reason, my brother's 5th birthday party. His gran used to make her own 'themed' cakes from scratch for these things, and since my brother loved gaming/computers, she made one shaped like a computer keyboard. I mean super-accurate, every key was seperate and had the right letter/symbol on it, it basically looked like a real keyboard. She was amazingly talented. <3

Of course my earliest memory is food-related, lol.

Eating cat food when I was three. Oops.

I have no idea how old I was, but it was before the age of 10 because that's when we moved out of that house, lol. But my parents took us to Wonderland and I got sick and my brother let me keep the little cow in a red and white polkadot dress that he had won.

I think i was three or four. Standing next to my mom in the kitchen, watching her peel potatoes over the sink. She could do it so quickly, and then hold the potato in her hand and cut it into neat chunks.

Sounds like your mum has skills! I had to peel potatoes a lot when I was doing night shifts in care and it used to take me forever. And even then I'd usually end up peeling my fingers or nails more than the potato.

If you don't mind me asking, how is your daughter's friend doing? Any news? <3

I gave up peeling them, as I did the same. Plus - tedious and boring!

OH! Hah, that was you. My stupid brain. I just posted a comment about it down below.

She's going for her first wound check/bandage change tomorrow. I saw a picture of her when my daughter went to visit, her face is *so* swollen from the burns, I couldn't even tell it was her. Just sucks.

She's doing okay, otherwise - burns on her lower legs and butt, which really suck, and her hand, but not third degree, so she got lucky.

Ugh, that does sound awful. Please give her and the rest of the family my best. :( Burns are so unforgiving. But thank goodness it wasn't worse. She'll be in my thoughts. <3

I've been hanging on my online banking site all day because I'm due to get paid the last Friday of the month, but nothing's come in yet, which I'm pissed about. As soon as it comes in her Paypal will be my priority. *smish*

Aw, thank you so much! I'm so grateful.
*hugs*

Omg, that's so frustrating when something is supposed to be coming in, and it isn't, and you're just going 'wth'.

But if they charge you, man, it comes out in like - .1 second after they say they are. Infuriating.

I'm 51. My earliest memory is of the color yellow. This must have been right after I had learned to walk, and the house I lived in had yellow tinted glass in the front door. It was a Sunday morning bc there were funnies on the floor (color section comics pages of newspapers), and I toddled to the front door and looked out of the yellow glass in the front door, at a beautiful, sunny day that was yellow-tinted.

I have a few vague flashes from before I was three:

Being in the backyard watching my dad leaving for work on the path besides the house and disappearing over the hill.

Being in some kind of public plaza with big, square concrete pavers and there was a guy there playing the accordion.

Being in my grandparents' kitchen in a house they moved out of when I was four and I have no other memory of, leaning against my grandmother's arm. I myyst have been on a stool.

Eating "salami pinwheels" my mom made me (cream cheese spread on a thin, deli slice of salami, rolled up, then sliced into coins). I was in a place with other kids, so I think it was the daycare,my mom sent nne to occasionally so I would have a chance to socialize with other little kids.

Well, I don't know. I was pretty sure it was one of me walking through the kitchen, but apparently experts are now saying I lied to myself so it must be false.

Eating shrimp in cocktail sauce at a fish market, and it was before my parents sold their farm so I was maybe 3.

Falling down the stairs, hahaha. I was two-ish, and had figured out how to lower the gate on the side of my bed some weeks earlier. I never really escaped or anything, I was pretty good about bedtimes, but one night I was thirsty after I'd been put to bed, so I decided to be a Big Girl and go downstairs by myself for a glass of milk.

I got out of the bed just fine, toddled over to the staircase, and started down the stairs holding onto the bars in the banister and gradually stepping down-- which was all well and good until one of the bars was a little loose, which startled me. So I let go. And tumbled down the entire staircase lmao.

I don't remember it hurting all that much, but I have the distinct memory of my mother crying and holding me up on her hip to look into the bathroom mirror for the better light, and her holding the hair up on my forehead to see a really giant red bump right on the front.

Lying on my back on the settee and trying to drink red pop at the same time. I was surprised when I couldn't do that and it went everywhere. It must have been very young- iirc babies can drink while lying on their backs no problems.
