For me, it'd depend on the guild focus. If it's a raiding guild or something else very gameplay focused, then yeah, it's a weird and not very useful intro. If it's a social guild, I wouldn't really raise an eyebrow at it, because that is potentially relevant info in that case.

If it's only social then yeah, I agree. Who cares in that situation.

I assumed it was at least semi-serious since it sounded like contributing to the guild was an expectation
