Not OP, but I couldn't stand listening to the Night Vale live episodes. For me, it took me right out of the story to hear the audience there and it just didn't have the same tone when all the actors were doing it live :\

I'm not going to lie, that when I listened to Condos (before I went to see them live) I didn't even notice the audience, lol. And I actually found Cecil's voice more resonant in it than in the regular epps. But I can see why the audience would take you out of it, especially something like WTNV.

I had the same reaction the one time I went to see WTNV. I think I actually fell asleep during the performance.
