I feel that way too sometimes and when I think about it while I'm listening to the song, I get goosebumps.

oh wow a shinee song just came on shuffle and i nearly forgot until I heard jonghyun's voice and immediately had to skip. It's still too fresh for me even 8 months later.

As it turns out I listen to a LOT of musicians who have passed, and I tend to think of these recordings as time travel. A moment in time, captured.

I feel that way too. There's a little known singer from my country whom I loved who passed away in a car crash ten years ago. Her family just recently released a previously unheard song as a commemoration. I could only listen to it once because hearing a "new" song by her so long after her death felt so unsettling.

I feel the same way about any recording, audio or video, in the wake of any celebrity's death. This was a whole person, even if they were only ever an image on a screen to me ... and now that image isn't backed up by a whole person any more, like a dollar after Goldfinger robs Fort Knox.
