Do you prefer one over the other? What are your favorite things to bake or cook?

Baking is easier to me because I can follow a recipe and it will usually turn out pretty well.

Baking. Love me some delicious bread and cakes. Plus I am better at it.

I like both, but cooking is probably more useful. I've got enough experience where I can experiment and stuff and still end up with something good. My favorite thing to cook is soup, because it's so relaxing to have it simmering on the stove for hours. I also love roasting chicken because it makes the whole house smell wonderful.

For baking, I like baking chocolate cake. It's relatively easy and rewarding.

I can't bake. I'll follow things to a T and it'll be a disaster. I don't know how I do it, but I do it.

Cooking, though. Oooh, I love just being able to wing it and go "Hm, this amount of seasoning FEELS right!" and, guess what, it is!

I prefer cooking just because baking makes sweets (I don't have the resources to bake healthy bread) and it also makes a mess. I don't know how but every time I bake I make 3x the mess of regular cooking. Cooking makes healthy meals that I control completely, and being more art than science allows me to fiddle around with the recipe until it meets my taste.

I have a mean jambalaya recipe that, while complicated, is delicious. I'm gradually learning to make good and proper Japanese home cooking and so far everything is amazing. God, okonomiyaki is just so damn good. I can't even say that I prefer making easy or fast meals, I think the things I most enjoy cooking are things that come out fucking amazing in the end while not taking 8 hours to make.

Both I think? Cooking is more instant gratification to me, but baking is like the long con?

I've recently started trying to make my own bread though and am enjoying that, even if it's even more of a long con than regular baking sometimes.

I find baking more fun because of the delicious, delicious carbs and because of the surprise element of how it will turn out in the oven.

My favorite thing to bake are fruit pies, especially Shaker Meyer lemon, and also cookies.

I vastly prefer baking over cooking and I love to bake cookies.
