OP

That is definitely a "fuck you" look if I've ever seen one.

Yes indeedy.
I'm catching up. Octavia is breaking my heart.
ARGH.

I wish someone would just shoot Clarke between the eyes and be done.

may I ask what Clarke has done? she was widely beloved last I tuned in, despite all the shady/morally dubious things she's done.

I'm curious if there's a correlation between the lack of shippiness involving her (as Clexa is over and Bellarke has been starved of fodder)and a lot of people losing interest or actively hating her now

I despised Clarke from about episode three, I think, and she's never redeemed herself. She's a hypocrite who blames everyone else for her mistakes, she gets people killed right and left by being a self-righteous jerk, and she does nothing for 'everyone', just for herself and/or her mom.

She is, in fact, just like her mother, whom I also despise.

I know a lot of people like her, but I never did, and though I loved her with Lexa, she is still a horrible, horrible character.

Me, I'm all in for Octavia and John Murphy, though not as a 'ship. I really only shipped Octavia and Lincoln (sob), and Murphy and Emori. Raven is the definite third favorite tied with Echo. I'm not much into shipping this show, really - though it might have an effect on some. I know a lot of people are unhappy with Bellamy now being unobtainable for Clarke, but I dunno if that's falling on Clarke so much as Echo.

I think my biggest 'ship for this show was Monty and Jasper. *sigh*

And there you go, I guess I felt the need to talk about this show! I'm enjoying it/not enjoying it in that way you do; invested enough in some characters to keep watching, but irritated so much by others that you find yourself fast forwarding through their boring, oh-so-earnest and oh-so-hypocritical monologues.

ah, so I've polled the wrong person, lol, I've seen quite a bit of anti-Clarke sentiment and wondered what caused the shift, but you've disliked her for quite some time!

I don't blame people for rooting for protagonists since writers make out like they're perfect and never question their behavior/choices, but for me, characters like Clarke are the worst because they get away with murder, ugh.

I used to have a lot of staying power with shows, but I can't stick it out these days; I find so few protagonists that I unabashedly enjoy, y'know, most of them are hypocrites and full of bullshit and drives me nuts that they're meant to be the leaders and everyone should operate on their say-so with no real justification. normally I find myself siding with the antagonist and that is a recipe for high blood pressure because I get so outraged on their behalf!

thanks for sharing your thoughts ♥

Heh, yeah, sorry. Totally the wrong person. Even when I *do* have 'ships on a show, I don't get invested to the point of quitting the show/hating the other characters just for that reason.

LITERAL murder, in Clarke's case. Ugh, for sure.

I feel the same. Not only are there so many shows that are just uninteresting, to me, but they're all so poorly *written*! If I'm ten minutes into my show and already rolling my eyes because the 'hero' or main cast is being exceptionally stupid for no reason other than 'make plot', I won't stay much longer.

I *hate* when writers can't seem to advance a story without dumbing down their supposedly super-smart or super-trained or whatever characters and/or resort to the worst of the tropes, like 'fridging, rape, etc.

I was totally rooting for the Grounders on the 100 - the space people were acting like they knew best about *everything*, when they had no clue about that world worked, down to weather, edible plants, etc. So fucking infuriating!

Thanks for listening. It was nice to vent. :D
