141 I like meta, and the acafen in general, but I'm not a fan of their writing on slash in particular. I feel that they have a very narrow way of defining it (to my eye, because that narrow definition suits their theories better) and defining out femslash is just one part of that. (See also, the battle over the meaning of "bandom"; that RPS only "counted" once they got interested in P!atD et al.; and that vid someone made about the history of slashers that only included SF fandoms.) It drives me nuts; every time there's a slash conversation on metafandom I come away from it convinced that I don't actually write slash. (However I'm proud that this comment was very parenthetical.)
Tl;dr: that person you're defining as an "outlier" to make your categories cleaner isn't a data point, but a fellow fan, so knock it off.
153 It seems to me your "freedom" is less about reading the manga and more about feeling like you have to do it in secret, with all the attendant shame. There is no such thing as a guilty pleasure.
182 That movie made me realize my great love for drag kings. More women in drag in film, plz, because it is the hotness, especially 20s-30s drag.
