I'm going to copy past what I said in the comment above, if you don't mind.

Auror seems very rule-oriented, very paper-work-doing, very *staid*, and that doesn't fit Harry to me, at all. Plus, while he *was* brave during the war and etc., he didn't *choose* that, and he hated being afraid, fighting for his life, seeing people get hurt.

Just...doesn't work for me. His being married doesn't really work for me, either. I rather like him doing something creative, or teaching, or even working on getting some Muggle stuff to work in the magical world.

Literally Moody was a paranoid person who regularly seemed to hate authority figures unless they proves themselves, so.

Also, he wanted to be an Auror specifically because then it was his choice and he could help prevent people getting hurt.

Also why would Harry fucking Potter, who loved the wizarding world and all its fantastical things, take something so close to the boring-ass life so associated with his abusers?

Like i said - auror seems a bad fit to me, and i don't see Harry doing that.
You do you, anon. It's really not that big a deal, and I've explained myself like - four times already or something. Jayzus.

fyi ever since i heard it explained i agree. auror just struck me as kind of a sad choice for him, the choice of a boy whose whole life revolved around the dark arts by necessity and who doesn't know anything else.

i love the harry as a teacher idea. i think stepping away and teaching the next generation, at the place he loves, where he can be a good influence and maybe help those often overlooked, it's a lovely idea

Exactly. Why would he want to keep fighting, getting hurt, being in danger? It's not like he *enjoyed* that - he did it out of necessity.
