I feel like Asuka is a measure in how I've grown up

Oh man, hard same.

For me, I share a lot of her flaws and a lot of the reasons for her flaws. I was/am a major perfectionist, to the point where I would self-sabotage and nuke things completely if there was a chance people would think I wasn't perfect. Like, younger-me would destroy a longterm friendship just bc we had an argument and I was wrong and I was too humiliated to face them ever again bc omg people can't know I was wrong about some minor thing. And of course a lot of that stemmed from neglect and constantly chasing approval from parental figures.

So of course when I was younger I fucking HATED Asuka and found a lot of her scenes viscerally upsetting. And then as I grew up and gained a little more self-awareness I started liking her more and more, and now I just adore her.
