But if he wasn't, should Rosanne have been fired? Should the founder of Papa John's been harassed and made to disappear for using the n word in a descriptive (not against a human being) way? There's countless other examples of people whose careers were destroyed over jokes and offensive language.

The outrage mob needs to make up their damn minds and apply the rules fairly. If one person is acceptable and forgivable with an apology, so are the others.

(For context: I went and watched videos about the context of Gunn's more horrific comments, and they were intended to be jokes. They fell flat, but they were meant to be jokes.)
