I understand. This speculation came up on TWoP a few (well, more than a few) months ago, and it squicked the hell out of me. Not only is it the lamest, most soapish plot twist ever, but it's also the worse possible thing they could do to Maya. I hope she'll get a good storyline in S3.

What kind of made me boggle the most about the discussion on TWoP was that there were people who seemed to think such a story arch would be more about Sylar. His feelings. Not Maya. She provides baby. It's about Sylar. Sylar becoming a daddy. Including people who thought he'd make a good daddy. It's like some kind of bizarro world. :D

WTF. Just, wtf. I can't see Sylar being any sort of father except maybe like the bossman from Shortpacked! (http://www.shortpacked.com). "I WILL HAVE AN HEIR TO MY EMPIRE WHEN I RULE THE WORLD." okay maybe not that cliche, but you get the picture, right?

But seriously, Maya has had more than enough utter suck for one lifetime in her one season that she's been in alone. She just needs to, like. Have a support group with Mohinder. "People Who Have Loved And Been Screwed Over By Sylar, Oh And Also He Killed A Direct Family Member Of Ours Too, We Found That Out Later."

Or, you know, they could wave Maya at Elle to see if she goes ♥ at her. In that case it can just be "People Who Attract The Crazy".

Heeeh, yeah. If he was at all serious about the whole evolution thing, he'd be concerned with spreading his precious genes. But I have the feeling he just likes using the justification... Even in FYG, when he claimed to be content with the powers he had collected, there's no sign that he was considering finding a wife and settling down.... lol. XD

I know!! It was actually just one person, but she kept on arguing that Sylar would make a good father and that it would also be good for Maya because it would make up for the loss of her brother! It drove me insane! I kept arguing with her but we just went around in circles. She couldn't seem to see the flaws in her super fucked up logic. Man, that girl really gets on my nerves.

I'm glad to hear it was just one person! Sometimes, things don't look like that, especially on message boards... and that topic was brought up in three different threads or so, and for that, I got the impression there wasn't nearly enough opposition. But I applaud you for trying to reason with her. I wouldn't even know where to begin. It should be so obviously not a good idea.

I could think of a hundred thousand better things for Maya. And even if you cannot think of anything else than a baby (in which case: ew!), just about any other male character would be a more suitable father than Sylar. :D
