I'm a similar spot. When I was deep in fandom, my life sucked and I had a lot of emotional problems. Now I'm pretty stable and I have good IRL friends, but I kinda miss the camaraderie in fandom. My friends are patient with me and listen to all my fandom-related rants, but they don't quite get it and, even though I don't think they'd judge me for it, I can't ask them to beta my fics. I dunno, I feel weird about it sometimes. I definitely don't want to go back to how I was back then, but it's like I don't know how to interact in fandom anymore because all the places I used to hang out in are gone and my online friends have moved on.

Same.

Even when I do find a space, I'm just not finding it as much fun as I used to, either. Too many dogpiles and toxic narcissists and shrill narrow-minded gits.

This though. I had made a good friend from Tumblr/AO3 and then it turned out that she's a toxic asshole who has no problem with stabbing her friends in the back. But I'm still friends with a lot of people back in the LJ days even though we've all moved on to different fandoms. Fandom is hard nowadays. :(

What fandoms do you write for?

Same. Fandom in the 2010s is a huge black hole where fun goes to die.
