Been lightly flirting back and forth with a guy at work.

Nothing will ever come of it because I'm A.) married, and B.) old enough to be his mother. But damn is he cute. And funny. And flirty. And fun to flirt back with. Le sigh, lol.

Sounds fun but honestly, I wouldn't shit where I eat. Workplace flirtations are more trouble than they're worth, even if you don't mean for them to go anywhere.

True, I do see your point and catching feelings has been known to happen.

Yeah. I totally get how it'd be a self-esteem boost and just general fun, but... IDK. Even if your spouse wouldn't care, the possibility of it backfiring and making things awkward at work just seems risky.

I would worry about A) the other person potentially feeling harassed (and just pretending to flirt back to be polite/not rock the boat), or B) taking it too seriously and too far and actually trying to pursue a relationship and reacting badly to the fact that one was not really on offer.

it seems to me that married people...should not be flirting with random coworkers? no matter how cute? butthatsjustmyopinion.jpg

nayrt - Well... I sure as hell wouldn't, and I wouldn't be happy if I found out my spouse was flirting with someone at work. We don't have that kind of understanding in our marriage. Other peoples' marriages might differ.

Yeah, I was thinking this as well. I'm pretty sure my husband wouldn't be pleased to find out that I was flirting with someone at work, even if I didn't intend for it to go past that.

The responses in this thread have been interesting. If OP were male and flirting with a co-worker young enough to be his daughter, I bet there'd be a lot more "ew" reactions.
