Not directly caused by food, but I caught a horrible stomach bug while staying at my dad's for a weekend. As in near-constant, violent puking/runs. I'd eaten out a few hours earlier so I spent the night blaming the chilli, until two friends told me the next day they'd had the exact same night, minus the food. We must have just passed it between us earlier in the day.

I haven't eaten chilli or felt so goddamn miserable since. The smell of it makes me feel ill now. It was horrendous. And I felt so bad for poor my dad awkwardly trying to look after me while keeping a safe distance, lol.

I also once got horribly sick after eating some chili. The rest of my family got sick too and hadn't eaten the chili, so I also knew it wasn't that, but it was a very long time before I ate any again. It was especially miserable because my parents couldn't do anything to help me out because they were too sick.
