I don't know about porn writers, but as a romance writer, just like how T.V. and books don't exactly copy how people speak in real life because it would just be awkward, writing about sex has certain conventions within genres to make it more.. palatable, I guess?

I mean, writing how real sex goes ends up with Yakety Sax playing in the background. Just like no one wants to see someone on the phone going "Yeah. Uh-huh. Yeah.", writing about getting limbs in weird positions, smacking your partner in the face, accidentally kneeling or lying on someone's hair, queefing, etc isn't sexy in print.

This. In romance novels, it's flowery because that's the convention and people are aiming for... well, slightly purple prose vs. gritty realism.

How does that explain only female orgasms being written way and not male?

Have you read many romance novels? Seeing as how female readers are the target audience, they tend to focus on female orgasms and the female characters' POV during sex scenes. This doesn't necessarily mean that male orgasms get written realistically and female orgasms are all riptides of ecstasy, etc.
