Chick-flick is too kind. It's a misguided kids movie.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
How so? Cause it's light and unserious and adventure-y?

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
You make it sound like kids movies are bad things?

"misguided kids movie"

Like someone who thinks stupid = what kids like.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, what did you think was stupid about the movie, then?

I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to kids watching stuff but I probably would hesitate to let a kid watch something with egg-harvesting, orgies, and (technical??) incest.

The film is rated PG-13. The egg-harvesting is referred to (and that's potentially the most disturbing scene, IMO), the orgy is just a few seconds (I missed it on my first watch), and as for the incest.. yes, I guess someone trying to marry the reincarnation of their mother is technically incest, but I think all of that is balanced by the positive portrayals of family.
