What are you tired of seeing in your favorite genres?

I love fantasy but hate stories about royalty. Sadly, most fantasy revolves around kingdoms and wars and such.

I also prefer small scale stories rather than world conflicts.

Romance in all genres ever. Zombie media where people turn on each other like immediately.

I just wish we could have monster movies that aren't zombie movies/shows. Can we have more vampire movies, werewolf movies, or anything else. Zombies are completely overdone.

Fantasy romance. I want worldbuilding and action and interesting plots, not crappy romances that ae rushed and badly written.

In print, nothing. SFF is so wonderfully diverse right now that I can just pick the stuff I like and ignore the rest.

TV/cinema is another matter, and we could do with a bit less "edgy."

IME experience yeah. Though I also go looking specifically for stories with twins who are gay or have mental illness. But usually it’s only one and the other is a perfect social butterfly...

Bleh I hate it.

Romance all the time in everything, or at least predictable, traditional het romance.
