Really, one of the most striking things about the whole process for me - not just the Aziz thing but more generally - is the extent to which our society simply just doesn't have the resources and ability to deal with this stuff at all well. To grapple with and think through the complexity, the ambiguity, the questions of fact, and the moral ramifications of it. We can't come to terms with it. It's really kinda grim and depressing, because a society really needs to be able to handle stuff like this.

I agree. I wouldn't call what Aziz did rape or sexual assault or sexual harassment in any way. But he was selfish and kind of an asshole. And I think there needs to be a conversation and ways of telling men that it isn't okay to be like that without calling it harassment or assault.
