Didn't somebody actually say it? I could swear that Megs told Beat himself what both his and Rhyme's entry fees were. Joshua is a great character, because he keeps his identity completely hidden but I was pretty surprised to find out about everything.

If I remember right (and it's been a couple weeks since I've played Beat's week, so I could be wrong), Konishi tells Beat what his fee was and taunts him about not being important enough to be Rhyme's fee. Beat wonders what her fee was, but doesn't figure it out. However, if you remember some bits of dialogue from earlier on, it becomes really clear. Beat mentions how Rhyme always had dreams, but waking up in the UG, she didn't have them anymore, and before that, Rhyme herself tells Shiki that she's never really had any goals or dreams. Poor thing can't even realize what she's lost.

That's a big part of why Joshua's such a good character. I love theorizing about what's going on in his head at any given moment.

I was playing that part of the game hours before the post trying to get Black Venus ): I should know better. I guess I was half right, somebody told Beat what his entry fee was but wouldn't he have figured that out already, by the fact that Rhyme didn't recognise him when they got to the UG? She thought he was a kind stranger.

Once you've read the secret reports everything about Joshua makes sense (I'm only missing two from AD) but one thing he says still doesn't fit - when he tells Neku that he's looking for the Composer, and wants to take him out and jack Shibuya. That made sense at the time, but once you find out he is the Composer it makes less sense to me. A lot of stuff doesn't get explained in this game, which I'm really curious about.
