If money were not object AND you had the perfect body type for it...

... who or what would you cosplay?

Yellow from Pokemon Special. I had the opportunity when I was younger but I was too embarrassed to cosplay anything at all. Now that I'm old, it feels weird to cosplay a kid.

Great choice!

Rita Skeeter in the satin chartreuse suit. Or Lady Van Tassel in the spider web gown.

Evil Miranda Richardson characters have the best looks.

Presuming I get to keep the costumes afterwards, I’d have to switch body types a lot but pretty much every character and costume change in the Andrew Lloyd Webber Phantom of the Opera—Maria Bjornson’s designs are amazing. All Lady and Katrina van Tassel’s outfits from the Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow. All Alice’s costumes from Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (I love Colleen Atwood’s work okay?).

All of Arwen’s and Eowyn’s outfits from the LotR movies, with maybe a bonus Ringwraith and Dark Queen Galadriel thrown in. All of Padme’s looks from Star Wars. Most of Once Upon a Time Belle’s outfits, a couple of Regina’s, most of Rumplestiltskin’s, bandit Emma, and young Ursula. Dracula’s red robe and all of Mina and Lucy’s dresses plus the brides’ costumes. All the main characters from The Fall and a couple of the villainous henchmen—Eiko Ishioka did amazing work too.

Lots more I’m forgetting at the moment, but basically it’s a good thing that you specified money was no object because in addition to materials and labor I’d need a bigger house.

"All of Padme’s looks from Star Wars" was going to be my choice, and I'm definitely also with you on everything from "The Fall."

AYRT—I can sew, sort of, but I look at stuff like Padme’s gowns and ask myself if I really want carpal tunnel.

AYRT - Right?? I had a vague plan to make the ceremony dress Padme wears at the end of The Phantom Menace (specifically that feathery, chiffony cape thing) before I realized I don't have the willpower. The woman had hella fashion sense, but hell if I can work whatever miracles her seamstresses did.

AYRT—provided you just wanted the cape and not the gown or the whisk (the round halo thing) you’d just need a lot of patience, a serger, some patterned white chiffon, and a couple dye pots. It’d take forever, but there’s no tailoring involved.

The priestesses in Fushigi Yugi. I love their outfits.

...I kind of would want to do Joachim Valentine from Shadow Hearts, mostly to run around with a giant fish as a weapon.

I’m blanking on characters right now but with body type and costs covered, I’d also want to do something technically complex or interesting to translate from fiction to real life... something like characters from Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol, or cyborg/robot characters.

I always really wanted that fluttery dress Padme wore when she and Anakin first get to the Lake Country house on Naboo. And those red handmaiden dresses in Ep 1.

I also would not necessarily be opposed to going super old-school cartoons back to my childhood and be Jem from Jem and the Holograms. Just sayin'.
