(Anonymous) 2018-08-26 03:37 am (UTC)(link)But gods forbid the fucking Stucky shippers not have their perfect, pure ship without flaws.
Re: What fandom hills will you die on?
Yeesh.
If you think the 'ship is pure and without flaws, you don't read much Steve/Bucky, because some of the things you're complaining about? Are addressed in a *lot* of the fic.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-26 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)And it shouldn't be fic that addresses it, either. Because fic is one thing. Steve and Bucky are an inherently unhealthy combination now, because Steve refuses to fucking move on and act like Bucky has actually changed and that there's no going back to how he used to be. To Steve he's still the Bucky who fell to his death, not the brainwashed guy who's never going to be the same who killed who knows how many people even if he was brainwashed. People are going to want Bucky to answer for that, because a lot of people lost loved ones to Bucky's hands directly.
Re: What fandom hills will you die on?
And where, exactly, did I ever say that Steve is perfect and never wrong?
And again - you aren't reading much fic if you don't think that these things - and particularly your last paragraph - aren't being addressed.
If you want this hashed out in the movies, I don't know what to tell you, as it's not going to be, as I think you know.
And I guess you're *not* a Steve/Bucky fan? Or you think Bucky should be shot or imprisoned forever because of what he was forced to do? Because that's the impression I'm getting, and it's really kinda gross.
And, to be honest? Several other people agreed with Philstar and I, so how about go argue with them? 'Cause I'm really tired of being nattered at about this when I've explained my opinion and my 'side' several times.
Bye bye! I'm done.
Re: What fandom hills will you die on?
(Anonymous) 2018-08-26 04:40 am (UTC)(link)You are assuming Steve would lose his objectivity even when faced with a truth that contradicts what he believes (and I don't mean the fake setup in CW). We actually do not know (at least in the MCU, no idea about the comics) whether or not Steve would go to extremes to protect Bucky if he had evidence the man was lucid and perfectly willing during the assassinations.
Is it really so strange to believe in a friend, especially when it's the only other living person in the world who can relate best to Steve's life experiences? How does not assuming the worst of someone automatically equal viewing that person as infallible?
