I really hate the word ethnic as a descriptor (only exception maybe being the food aisle of a grocery store but even then I prefer 'international aisle'). It's just weird to me. Like, everyone has an ethnicity...

It mostly tends to be used by racist, middle-aged white folks to describe whatever unfamiliar type of person/food/neighborhood/celebration/clothing item they find disconcerting. Or fascinating.
