What did he do to you?

Do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Couldn't even muster a single smile during the whole presentation, ignored everyone afterwards, clearly hated being there and doing the thing he's supposed to be famous for, his 'presentation' was super shitty, and I felt so bad for his assistants who obviously were not enjoying having to deal with him.

I mean damn if you hate your job that much, you're surely rich enough to just not do a job for a while until you find something you can actually tolerate.

I agree...he's always struck me as a person who barely tolerated animals and didn't like his job. I never quite understood why he was doing it. The only entertaining thing he ever did was freak out while holding a snappish young crocodile and repeat "Just let me get my composure!" My husband and I imitate that whenever things get out of hand. :P

That is exactly how he acted when my daughter and I met him. I understand that everyone has bad days but when you work events put a smile on your face and be nice especially to children. My daughter wasn't quite three when we went to a special event where he was appearing. He was rude and it was clear he didn't want to be there. He acted very put out to even say hello to my shy daughter. I have been to way bigger events with actual famous people that were less of a PITA.

I also meet a lot of famous people on the job, and in my experience, people who are really famous as well as actually good at what they do, tend to be very modest and very nice 95% of the time. They're rich, they love what they do, they don't have a need to be nasty to people. Safe to say this guy is a dick.

I’m glad that everyone else in your life is so pleasant that a unenthused zookeeper can still get your hackles up this long after the fact. You’re truly blessed, and I hope you appreciate it.
