Mnnngh.

I'm disappointed that this sodding film will show up in every search for The Outlaw and the Upstart King forever now.

I for one hate Braveheart. It has some good scenes, but the historical story is so much better. So I'm excited about this new one.

Plus it’s treatment of Edward II was violently homophobic.

The cast list alone gives me the feeling they're trying a little better on including important people who actually existed...unlike Braveheart, which left out Wallace's fucking co-commander.

Idk the trailer looked OK? And Chris Pine doesn't have the worst attempt at the accent ever. It's not amazing but it's not terrible either. Not to mention Bruce probably didn't sound like a modern Scot so whatever.

Scottish actors who could have done a fantastic job with this: David Tennant, Alan Cumming, James McAvoy, Billy Boyd, Robert Carlyle, Ewan McGregor, Gerard Butler, Richard Madden, Dougray Scott, Iain Glenn.

Iain Glenn for every role ever please. Ugh that voice.

That's basically just a list of actors who only have being Scottish in common. Some of them might have been suitable, some not. I'm sure if David Mackenzie wanted one of them for the role, he would have no trouble casting one. He's cast plenty of Scottish actors in his projects but obviously rates Pine after Hell or High Water and Pine clearly rates him back if he's taking indie pay again just to work with the same director again.
