It's just so silly because the thing she's wearing on the right - apparently entirely voluntarily in her free time- would have been the kind of corset she could have worn in the movie so it's pretty hypocritical (and unprofessional as well).

it's not hypocritical to not want to perpetuate an artificial silhouette in a movie directed at younger audiences while still dressing however you want in your FREE TIME as a PRIVATE PERSON

nayrt - You're missing the point. The type of corset Emma Watson is wearing on the right isn't the kind that draws in your waist and gives you an artificial silhouette.

It's entirely hypocritical to pretend a garment is sexist and refuse to wear it for ideological reasons for your job (that you get paid shitloads of money for) while apparently having no such ideological qualms about the very same garment in your daily life.

I don't think the corset she's wearing in the second picture, is the kind that would have been worn in Belle's time period. It also doesn't really change he shape. It's more like a corset-inspired top, than a real corset.

It's really not though. I have the exact corset in another colour (Louis Vuitton AW 2010). It has plastic boning and doesn't lace up. It's essentially just a tight top.
