Both have bad and good sections. Th bad of Tumblr never reached the level of the worst of Reddit, though.

Tumblr has a very dedicated fandom for the Columbine shooters.

Unfortunately Columbine fangirls existed way before tumblr.

And even then, women into bad guys existed waaaaay before Columbine.

And reddit has a dedicated fandom for Elliot Rodger.

There are nazis on Tumblr too. They may not be what the site's known for in fandom circles, but they - and other repulsive and genuinely dangerous groups - are very definitely there.

Funny, I'd say it's the other way around. It all depends on what you've seen and also which behaviour you think it subjectively the worst for you, I guess.

Nah, Reddit is just more mainstream with a much bigger and varied user base whereas tumblr is majorly just for fandom shit. Reddit, at the very least, has moderators that can shut shit down if it gets out of hand whereas tumblr has no authority over the shit that goes down.

Like... if people cross the line on reddit they will be dealt with quickly depending on the subreddit. However if you report spam or something inappropriate on tumblr it will take days for staff* to deal with it, they are even slower with the crazy and awful "discourse", witch hunts, and doxxing of innocent people for the stupidest reasons.

*staff who has zero interaction with the users and NEVER addresses real problems on the site. Tumblr is a site where you have to download at least two outside extensions to function and filter properly.
