1. I'm still shocked over the amount of hate Willow got here when we were talking about her. She's my second favorite after Buffy, and I didn't realize how much she's hated. Still don't get it.

2. I feel really bad for Sinclair's actor, and he did an amazing thing and was amazingly strong. I'm still kind of glad he left, though? Because I think Sheridan is a better and much more complicated character.

3. I hate how much Delenn gets sidelined later on. She, Sinclair, and Sheridan are all supposed to be the One. And yet, her role gets smaller and it seemed like sometimes they didn't know what to do with her.

5. I don't really like Garibaldi. I'd say he and Londo are my least favorite characters. I get Garibaldi's role, and it was a good and necessary thing. I still find him annoying.

6. TBH, it seems like every time I rewatch Doctor Who I like Ten a little less. He treated both Martha and Donna like crap.

It's really weird, but I kinda feel that way towards Ten now too. I adored him when he first appeared and considered him my Doctor until Twelve took his spot, but I always get pissed at how Martha was treated during his run. I hated the Family of Blood episodes because Martha's treated like crap and no one gives a damn because it's all about poor Ten losing his fake human life. I still get sad during his final episode, but then I imagine how Wilf must've felt for the rest of his life that he indirectly caused Ten's death and get annoyed at Ten's theatrics.

Oh my god, Ten's ending. The way he treated Wilf. Like, Doctor, you aren't going to die. You are just going to regenerate. To say even slightly suggest that you not regenerating is more important than Wilf's actual life? Makes you a jerk in that scene.

I know it's never gonna happen, but I just want some closure or something for Wilf. It'd be great if he could meet Thirteen and Thirteen could check up on Donna without revealing her true identity. That would make me so happy.

1. She mentally abused her girlfriend. Hell, you could even call it rape considering her girlfriend is essentially having sex with her under false pretenses. And no, magical addiction is no better of an excuse than being a drunk.

I'm not saying that's right. Of course doing that was terrible. But I don't think that one thing ruins her entire character over 7 seasons.

For me, that was just the culmination of a lot of crap. What she did to Tara was the most unforgivable, but all her 'you just don't trust meee!' stuff, when she was constantly doing things behind people's back and/or that were really dangerous really got on my nerves. And 'here, i made cookies' does not make up for spells that take away consent, or giving Dawn a book with a spell to bring back her dead mom.

Wait, who hates Willow?! I guess I didn't love her characterization later on, but even then I felt she redeemed herself somewhat.

I personally don't HATE her, but I really do dislike where her character went when she was initially one of my favourite characters in the first season (or two).

I know that magic addiction led to a lot of her horrible decisions, but I just feel like we were supposed to forgive her for the consequences of her actions and I couldn't. Maybe had it been written better? But that honestly goes for more characters than just hers.

- I love Willow but that's in large part because I choose to aggressively ignore the parts of the Buffy universe that I think are stupid

- I think Garibaldi is good in extremely small doses. IMO he should never, ever, ever be the main protagonist of anything more than a C plot. I like Londo though, he's such a good complicated character.

- I can see where you're coming from wrt Ten and Martha/Donna buuuuuuut at the same time I feel like those issues aren't unique to Ten; they're one version of the much larger problem of the relationship between the Doctor and their companions in general. It's basically a relationship that's almost inevitably super weird and harmful if you think about it for more than like 5 seconds and that's kind of been true all the way back to Susan. That's not to excuse Ten, so much as to say that I think those issues are somewhat intrinsic to the show as a whole.

The problem was Ten encompassed all of that in the worst way possible and it was written in a way to make it seem like it wasn't a flaw. Martha was shown as in the wrong, given she still had A Thing for him later and would magically be fucking incompetent around him so he could save the day. Even when they were in her element.

And the entire ending for him was one, giant RTD circlejerk that people ate up. It had nothing to do with Ten, it had everything to do with RTD wanting to make you think you'd never have it this good again and him leaving was the Saddest Thing Ever.

The problem was Ten encompassed all of that in the worst way possible

0% this is true when the Sixth Doctor exists

I get why people don't like it, and I'm not saying you need to like it, I'm just saying it's not exactly an isolated incident (and I don't think personalizing the critique of RTD's final eps that way is fair, any more than it is when people do the same to SM)
