I dunno, OP. I started watching Banana Fish after having read the manga so, barring any anime changes, I know who lives and who dies. Even knowing that, episode nine still broke me.

Don't feel like a creeper! Like you said, authors LOVE that! And you're not the only one who binge-reads. People can spend entire weekends reading fic when they get really into it. If you're shy about it though you could always leave anon comments and see how they go over?

When I say this, I mean

"I like imagining ways this ship could happen but I hope it doesn't become canon because then it sets the dynamics and plot in stone in a certain way and I prefer it to not happen because then we can explore different ways this ship could happen in the canon setting without needing to incorporate certain canon dynamics of how interactions would be and also avoids the usual pitfall of relationship-development taking over individual character-development in canon."

But that's a much longer thing to say.

I wouldn't interpret "I ship it" as a predictive statement in any way, regardless.
