(Anonymous) 2008-08-13 12:02 am (UTC)(link)Context is indispensable, however. And there are many ways to look at this thing where you wouldn't necessarily see the offending material's authors' respect of Jensen Ackles in the first place.
As someone who has been in and around internet fandoms for nearing a decade, I know it wasn't very apparent to me when I stumbled upon said material.
It's a sad thing, all of it; but I cannot and will not withdraw support for somebody whose reaction I understand and agree with, over friends I feel were always in the wrong, no matter how dear they are to me (and they are. Hence the secret, heh.)

What I still don't quite get is why you respect him more for what he did. I understand not being angry or upset with him, and not withdrawing support, but why is what he did such a compliment to his character?
