Yeah, leaving comments in response to the secrets that are still being made by people who have half the story. The legal requirements are not convenient, especially when we can't defend ourselves or explain what he's done for fear of having more action taken against us.

Until you actually see the material that was sent to the people behind PETJA with your own eyes, don't go around blindly stating that they did or didn't not understand what was issued to them.

Until you show us what was sent to you, don't go around telling us not to share our feelings about it.

really? REALLY? i'm not the other anon and i haven't seen the paperwork, either, but honestly, who the hell are you to demand to see legal paperwork? do you also demand to see people's tax returns? jesus christ.

Hey, I'm not demanding anything. I'm simply saying, if you want me to not talk about it, give me a reason. Don't wave your hands at me and ask me to believe every last thing you say without proof. Don't tell me I'm not allowed to think the planned publicity campaign was worthy of a cease and desist letter. Don't tell me not to speak.

And if you do want to tell me not to speak, you're gonna have to give me proof that something other than a C&D is going on. This is the way of the world, and you're gonna have to get used to it. Nobody believes anything without proof. I've been around too long to do otherwise.

dude, related parties and legal fen have confirmed it was a C&D and that it was being complied with. there was no lawsuit.

i never said it was a lawsuit. i said it was legal paperwork. and if you're satisfied by second-hand knowledge that it was just a c&d, then that's your prerogative.

Works for me. And as long as you're capable of accepting that my opinion about this cannot and will not change based on vague, anonymous, wholly unsubstantiated insinuations, no matter how oft-repeated they are on f!s, we'll be just fine. :)

Not really. It was hyperbole. I'd settle for being told why I should not talk about it, rather than it being assumed that these people automatically deserve my pity and support without explaining anything about what's going on.

They were sure open enough about it earlier, before they locked their initial posts and people who spoke to them started saying it was just a cease and desist letter. And like someone said elsewhere, it's been pretty much debunked by the legal folks in this fandom that they could be legally obliged to not speak about it. So, my bullshit detector is screaming at me, and I've got the overly entitled PETJA mice screaming in my other ear, but the bullshit detector is just a smidge louder. It would take a lot more than "Shut up, you don't know what's going on!" to convince me to side with them.

Ha! You guys are making it sound like he sent a couple of no-necks out to this chick's house and threatened to kill her and her puppy if she didn't stop being so mean to him. I can't seriously imagine any legal action he could have actually taken that would be so OMG scary as you're making it seem. He could send a C&D. He could sue for defamation or something along those lines. It's not like he could have you sent to Death Row for saying mean thing on the internet.

Uh... unless there are some seriously scary new cyber-bullying laws in effect that I'm unaware of?
