164. Generalized ranting: I can't stand it when people feel the need to make their opinion a secret because people disagree. I mean, okay, if your secret is related to some kind of taboo, then I understand why it's a secret, but why is everyone so afraid of dissent that they can't even voice support for an actor without doing it anonymously?

Well, remember that the format of posting here requires things to be "secrets" in some way or other. It's entirely possible people exaggerate how much they're afraid of voicing their opinion in order to avoid the dreaded "!secret" section.

I never said he shouldn't complain, nor did I say he shouldn't be included. I just said that he's not being disincluded out of some vendetta against men and that the fact of the matter is, yaoi communities are girl zones. He needs to make peace with that fact, but that doesn't mean he needs to settle for being excluded.

He also shouldn't be lashing out at me for a casual remark meant to encourage someone to act natural around him. Flippant and unthoughtful use of the word "official" doesn't really deserve a "fuck you" in response.

I don't think anyone is trying to get back at you, but I agree. Slash communities are not "officially" anything-- anyone should be welcome, regardless of sexual orientation or sex/gender identity. It doesn't matter who it's made for or who it's made by; you have as much a right to participate as anyone.
