I didn't really think the aim of that movie was to convert anybody. I figured it was to make cash off of people who were already Christian, you know?

Didn't see it, but that's what I thought it was trying to do.

anything made with religious intent is aiming to convert people as well as make moneyz off the faithful. dude. it's fucking religion.

anyways, even if it wasn't in Mel's intent, the christian religion did promote conversion... like "take your heathen friends to see this movie because it can probably convince them to join our religion with its intense guilt trip more than any logical conversation could" just sayin

I didn't pay much attention to the movie when it came out, so I missed a bunch of this. You probably have a point, though, and it's one of the things about religion that annoys me. Not to be an apologist, but it does annoy some religious people, even if it appeals to the biblethumpers out there.

It probably depends on where you were, honestly. I was in a pretty conservative area, but it wasn't the bible belt or anything, so I didn't see as much of it.
