I'm getting kind of annoyed with his "I'm going to say the obvious joke so that people don't @ us about it" thing, honestly.
That's always gonna happen, bud. Take a note from Justin and get friendly with that block button.

Seconded. Travis isn't as polished or well-spoken as the other two and sometimes it is painfully clear, between the "obvious joke" that you referenced and when he chooses listener questions, he has an plan on how he wants to say the "right" thing.

I feel like Mr. Rogers would be more disappointed in your cynicism than anything, tbh

Even if it is a "schtick" and Travis isn't always sincere...you know, good for him anyway that that's the image he's trying to build and live up to every day. Fake it till you make it, and it doesn't make much difference to people he's nice to.

Well, in a world without Fred Rogers, I don't mind Travis McElroy filling in. Every generation deserves to have someone like that.

Though I wouldn't mind if he could learn to smile with his mouth closed, just once. It's a little creepy.

Said the same in the comment thread, but I do think constant positivity can be tiring for me at least, even if sincere, but I do prefer it to constant negativity. Travis is probably my least favorite brother if I rank them, but I definitely still like him a lot.

I recognize you wrote McElroy, who I don't know, but all I can think of is the McPoyles, and how surely they have some irrational long standing fued with this family that perhaps even marriage cannot fix.

On the other hand, even if it's fakey, I've lost track of how many times I've seen him tweeting something like that and felt immeasurably better about stuff. Of course, I have been living that Thank Travis for Travis life a lot harder than most.

The moment I was convinced Data is an ensouled being was at the end of In Theory, because wiping an unsuccessful dating/relationship progam entirely after it's failed is the action of a jilted lover and not of an automaton which named itself after its quest for knowledge.

I love when the McElroys work to be open minded and kind, and I appreciate that Travis tries, but it does seem very fake and forced coming from Travis in a way it doesn't from the other guys. I empathize that he struggles from sounding insincere but I listen more to what he says rather than how he says it and he often rubs me the wrong way.
