The app is called Lovestruck. It features several different stories like fantasy, sci-fi, gangs and mafia, stranded on an island, etc. You play the MC and can choose between character routes on who you wanna romance.

The story in the picture is from Villainous Nights. MC is on the right and love interest is the one on the left. This story's main thing is supervillains/heroes.

I’d recommend because the canon gay content is fantastic!

Thanks...looking it up, it looks good, but I'm slightly worried about the hearts...is it possible to get locked into bad outcomes by not buying them? (I've played an app with a similar system, and gave up after I seemed to screw myself out of the path I was aiming for due to running out of the 'special choice' currency.)

Nah. Far as I know, there aren’t any real bad outcomes. The hearts are more like extra juicy scenes, plus a CG usually. But end result is usually the same except for dialogue differences. Besides, every day you get the chance to win hearts through a little card game that starts when u open the app that day. It’s pure luck and grindy, but it’s free. The cards that aren’t more hearts or a do over are puzzle pieces. Every completed puzzle rewards you with a certain amount of hearts.

The people in charge know their fan base wants happy endings and stuff. They specifically targeted those kind of people.
