The Odyssey - IN SPACE! Odysseus is literally lost in space and deals with all sorts of aliens. Circe is an alien scientist who genetically modifies Odysseus' friends.

You know there was a cartoon series that was exactly this?

Caveat: It's old and maybe not that good if you don't have a nostalgia filter? but it does exist and it had its charm in its time.

(Also, it's not a very faithful adaptation, there are added original characters, roughly one third of the episodes come from the Odyssey, another third inspired from other Greek myths, and the rest is made up. But at the time I thought it was at least coherently made up with the space/myth themes.)
