I get this too, supposedly your writing improves over time but I get fewer and fewer comments. The only fic that gets lots of comments is BNF pwp stuff and being a BNF these days means getting popular on Tumblr so yes, not an option for me as I rarely write explicit stuff and get burned out if I spend too long on Tumblr. Too many posts on Tumblr saying authors are "entitled" if they want comments and giving excuses as to why it's too difficult for people to bother, despite authors saying that feedback is why they post.
