I don't get what's so exciting about 2 seconds of screentime. Especially considering someone on AT's crew got fired for implying it earlier in its run.

Wafku had better cartoon lesbians.

The firing was in 2011 and not specifically about implying they were a couple. But even if it was, LGBT+ acceptance has moved very fast since then and I don't see why people should be treated like hypocrites for not remaining bigots forever.

Yeah the show and the ship has progressed way past the initial controversy around the “What Was Missing” episode. More has happened than the “2 seconds of screen time” where they kissed.

Yeah, it would be nice if the world were more accepting of same-sex relationships so that children's shows would be able to confirm them without risking getting pulled from most of the networks that air them and having to cancel the show, wouldn't it?

Look, the rate of progress may not be as fast as you would like...but progress is still progress. I'm super happy about this relationship and that a canon kiss is in the finale.

no need to be passive-aggressive. anon i replied to made it sound like there is ~no way to make people happy!!!!~ but it's pretty obvious what people criticise when they criticise it as being a "cop-out"

I thought it was obvious they'd gotten together a while before that, so while it was nice to have them kiss and have that absolute confirmation, to me it was, "well, of course they would".

Yeah they had definitely been writing them as canon for a while by this point, the kiss just felt like the final confirmation as opposed to a throw-it-in copout.

IA -- There were enough references in flashbacks and current behavior strewn throughout the series that always they read to me as exes who still had feelings & issues.

I hadn't watched this show in awhile, I thought even tho is wasn't really proclaimed that they were "canon" canon, it was certainly implied?
