it wouldn't to you, but i could conceivably see it mattering to some characters. especially if being labeled as bi or gay feels fake or inaccurate to them, or is giving people the wrong impression, or making people express surprise all the time when they express attraction to solely opposite-gender people...

just saying the complexities are never really discussed, stories tend to have everyone settle into a queer personal identity - and have a straightforward happy ending
