129. IAWTS so much. There are tons of awesome female characters in the Ace Attorney series, and hate for them hurts me.

144. Ahaha. I have a RL friend who went on about Twilight for a while, though she admitted "they're just fluff." Then, while I was O_o-ing, she launched into love for him.

I was kind of mean that day, and I feel bad about it.

Beats the hell out of me, but I should clarify: my friend likes both, apparently. Our conversation went something like this.

Friend: I'm so excited about the new Twilight novel *blah blah*
Me: *dubious look* You, uh, like those? Really? The sparkly vampire books?
Friends: Well, yeah. I know. But they're fluff; I just read them for fun. It's a break from my serious fantasy series: the Sword of Truth books.
Me: *the name pings* ...The ones with the protagonist who has a sense of morality that amounts to "everything I do is right; everyone against me is wrong" and everyone just accepts that, and he's a jerk but everyone loves him for some reason and basically he's a giant Gary Stu of the worst, most rage-inducing kind?
Friend: *awkward*

Serious fantasy series?! WHAT? And, yeah, your description is quite right, although it missed out the protagonist's Mary Sue girlfriend, who is also rage-inducing sometimes.

Get your friend to a bookstore or a library or something to get them something good!

I can recommend George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.

I may just do that. I'm thinking of just shoving Good Omens in her face, though. It's the sort of thing she'd like on principle (funny apocalypse story!), and it's a great book anyway.
