What media have you consumed recently that whelmed you?

No under, no over, just whelmed.

My bosses are not at work so I don't have to constantly make myself look busy. Been watching some stuff on netflix. Killing Ground was a horror movie that good pretty good reviews. It was such a nothing film. Even the ending was nothing. And it just...forgot about so much stuff.

Evolution (2015) also felt like a 'nothing really happened' horror movie. But at least that was creepy.

I saw Evolution last year and, yeah, I can't remember hardly anything about what happened. But there were some great visuals and creepy imagery. But I love anything ocean-related.

Masterchef season 9. I like the mentorship idea, but Joe is back. And replacing a female judge with the judge who was accused of sexual misconduct? Kind of not cool. Yet I can't stop watching. And I'm happy Aaron is still a judge. He's the best. So Welmed.

Doesn't whelm essentially mean the same as overwhelm?

But if you mean media that was a wash - wasn't disappointed, but wasn't excited about, then The Meg. Pretty much what I was expecting from a shark movie.

I would love a really good Lovecraft adaption made today. There are a couple decent ones. But nothing completely amazing.

Perfect answer. I did laugh at “just keep swimming”, though.

The Rain. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't watch the whole thing, but there was too much ridiculous stuff in it, so it balanced out into being "meh."

Shetland. Those landscapes are wonderful, and the feeling of Nordic noir. Makes me want to go back there!
