A new desk after I hopefully get a new house. I have a glass, L-shaped one from amazon. I want a rustic, wooden one. But I can't find any that don't look shitty for under $300.

For solid wood furniture on a budget, your only real option is second hand, probably.

There is a guy like three hours away that does custom desks for $375. I might save up and get one of those.

Right? I love his style. And $375 seems like a great price for a desk like that.

I found mine at a charity shop. I think sometimes the heavier pieces don't sell as quickly because they're harder to get home.

Yeah. They're also a little out of fashion at the moment. I've been lucky enough to pick up a coffee table for cheap that way.

I have a nice one that's old university surplus that I got for free when someone rescued it from a trash pile. Antique stores and rummage sales may have something.

Do you plan on moving at any point in the future? Because let me tell you, those old-style ones look great, but they are a pain in the ASS to move. Don't get one unless you aren't planning on going anywhere for a long time.
