not the OP but you know, everyone has different areas of strength, and not having good grammar doesn't necessary mean not being intelligent. Someone can be a math genius and have sucky grammar.

That's a heck of a saying; I've never heard it before, but I like it. Yeah, I would only buy the "everyone has different areas of strength" argument if they weren't trying to argue their all-around superiority. If the secret had said "I'm better at maths than you," it would have been a different story.

There's really no point in bragging about what hot shit you are, how SUPERIOR you are, when you aren't, though. That's the problem.

It reminds me of people who congratulate themselves over how high their IQ results or, god forbid, SAT scores are, when they flunk all of their classes.

Actually, I'm pretty sure "less intelligent than me" is correct, because if you pluralize "less intelligent than I", it becomes "less intelligent than we", which is obviously incorrect.

Editing to add: If you wanted to keep "less intelligent than I", you'd have to add "am" to the end.

I was definitely trying to convey the purpose you noted in the edit. I was taught that MLA allows for dropping the extra "am" at the end of the sentence if meaning is conveyed, but I won't niggle with the details. The response was meant to be fun anyway, especially considering how unbelievably pretentious the original poster sounded in his or her secret.

As long as we're being pedantic, "less intelligent than me" is correct unless you'd change it to "less intelligent than I am".

That being said, you make a very good point: anybody who would make a secret like that deserves an F at life. Even if I didn't think she was utterly, devastatingly incorrect, her statement is so arrogant I want to shove her in the mud.

Yes, because thinking that girls and boys are crazy in different ways is totally creepy and disturbing! Because what I actually said was that "all girls are narcissistic" as opposed to "this poster is narcissistic in a way I identify as female!"
