As someone with a high IQ and dyslexia, I think that's a stupid comment.

If you're going to go on the World Wide Web and claim to be smarter than everyone else, you probably should make sure your spelling and grammar is correct, REGARDLESS of what issue you might have. Otherwise, you just look like an idiot troll.

I think it probably was a troll! I just wish people weren't taking the bait in a way that tends to confirm their secret, however imperfect its grammar.

I must respectfully disagree. Because like it or not, when most people see bad grammar, they don't think of things like dyslexia, they think, "That person doesn't have the best grasp of the English language." And when that person arrogantly claims to be super-smart (and worse, smarter than everyone in the room), any mistake they make is pointed out, since it shows that they're not as smart as they claim.

Yes, you're right that this person could be super-smart and dyslexic, but that didn't occur to me at all when I wrote this (nor to many others, from the look of other replies to this secret). So I was not being dishonest, and I did at the time feel his grammar mistake was relevant, as I felt it undermined his "I'm so smart" claim. I will cop to the claim of it being smug, though.

The point is that it DOESN'T show that. The way you and so many others assumed it did is very annoying and maybe even offensive to people with dyslexia. It shows the assumptions and prejudices we have to deal with all the time.
