Too Big: Bwah? What tradition is this slapping? Rose got a better ending than most of the Doctors companions. She didn't end up dead, abandoned friendless far from everyone she's ever known, with a skull that opens up when you clap, or with all her memories sucked out of her head.

Anyway, Rosefen can go and write their shippy fics without having to worry about having the ship ever sink. And the rest of us don't have to deal with Rosemoping anymore! Win-win.

That tradition that the Doctor was asexual, or at the very least not in a relationship with a companion? (Not that I don't like Doctor/Companion, but not in canon.) That no matter how fantastic they were together, no matter how well they fit together, Doctor/Companion would never happen, because Doctor Who is not a romantic show, and the Doctor would move with to other companions? That there can be no happy D/C ending, because the Companion never stay?

I agree that it was necessary to placate the Rosefen, yes, but I don't think she was very happy either. I remember rather petulant cries of, "no, I don't want that one, I want this one!"
But whether Doctor/Rose even works if there is no TARDIS and no travelling, and if Rose has to do her retail job again, well, I don't even want to think about that.

Well, yeah, he's gotten a lot more kissy and lovesick this incarnation, but I can chalk that up the differences in personality he inevitably has with an incarnation change. 1 was cranky, two was serious, three was flamboyant, four loved to play dumb, etc. 10 just happens to be a bit slutty -- at least compared to the others. But they didn't break tradition and let Rose stay, she is gone, gone, gone. If anyone breaks tradition it's Jack, for being both insanely sexualized, and getting to come back as a companion multiple times after leaving.

As for getting the wrong Doctor, she got the part of the Doctor that actually wants to settle down and live with her. If she can't live with that then she doesn't deserve to be pleased. Somehow I just don't see this Human Doctor being a boring person to live with. Being stuck without a Tardis hasn't stopped Jack or Sarah Jane or Martha or for that matter Mickey from having adventures.
