But why in the world does tagging spoilers mean you can't talk about it? That's totally false.

Just assume everything in a group dedicated to a fandom is spoilers. People shouldn't have to look up an episode list to figure out, "Did this happen S9E4 or S9E10???" to tag spoilers.

You're not responding to my point at all. Fandom is absolutely for talking about everything related to a series. "Avoid spoiling others" in no way means "don't talk about what you want to talk about". It would just mean, put it under a cut, or even just tag for spoilers at the top. Really not that fucking hard.

The discussion being tagged with the canon is your spoiler warning.

"put it under a cut" or "tag for spoilers at the top" aren't, like, things that exist on every single discussion platform

Then people would have to tag everything that ever happened in the entire series from the first second of the first episode as spoilers because someone might choose not to watch the show before ...going into the places that exist solely for people who have seen the show to talk to each other about it?? If you're going into a fandom space dedicated to that series either watch all the episodes or accept that entering the fandom space may result in a random spoiler encounter.
