Same. Like, I just started watching Hannibal and I purposely looked up the ending because I'd heard the brouhaha over it getting cancelled and I wanted to make sure the ending wouldn't super annoy me after committing to three seasons.

Ooh, I've been meaning to watch Hannibal. Is it as good as people say it is?

I did something similar when I started watching Supernatural and just read season summaries to see if the show was worth my time since I got into it really late. Turns out I'm willing to put up with a lot of nonsense to watch hot guys cry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm just starting season three now, but so far it's amazing, even if I spend half my time yelling at everyone, lol!

(Anonymous) 2018-09-16 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I'll give it a go then.

Just an FYI that despite knowing, hey this is about a cannibal, it is quite gorier than I anticipated, so if you're not-gore friendly, be warned! But the twists and turns and plot so far is amazing.

DA
I loved the first season so much. But I started to get disillusioned in the second season, 2ith how they treated various characters, and I ended up dropping it before the end. I highly recommend at least the first season, though, if the premise interests you!

ANon-that's-watching

I think season two upset me the most, but I had to stick with it because I just... I was so angry with almost everyone that I wanted to see it work out.

AYRT

I was so angry with everyone and everything that I realized I wasn't enjoying myself anymore. And I have little enough free time that if I'm not enjoying myself I'm not going to spend the time on it. (Plus, given how everything was going, I wasn't sure it would work out so I didn't want to risk it. And, tbh, I'm glad I gave up. Because I was part of the "save Will Graham" mindset, and that ending was not for me from what I've heard of it.)

Kind of Spoilery, shhh...

Yeah if you're not enjoying yourself anymore, it's not worth it! I can never understand people who hate-watch shows, tbh.

From what I've spoiled with myself on the ending, I think I'm okay with it, because as much as I love innocent Will, I can see how in what he does how quickly and easy it would be for him to go dark.

Anon, are you me?

I think I watched the first episode of s3, realized how much I was dreading getting through the rest and that it had stopped being enjoyable in s2 sometime and gave up then and there.

The first season was great, but I quit in the middle of the second season, because I thought that the FBI's behavior had become completely idiotic at that point and Hannibal was basically superhuman.

(Anonymous) 2018-09-16 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
This! OMG

Some of the things the FBI did had me yelling at the screen what hypocritical dumbasses they were.

And Hannibal's godlike-ness just made me angry instead of having me impressed with his skill. They just took it too far for me.
