Except the quality hasn't diminished? At least of the MCU or the Star Wars movies.

If a movie should be rated R from a creative point of view, and they change it to make it PG-13, they've harmed its quality, even if it's still a good movie in spite of the change.

That definitely doesn't apply to any Star Wars movies, and I don't think it applies to any MCU movies. but OP doesn't seem to be talking about those movies specifically - they're talking about a general trend of movies being moved to PG-13, which fans sometimes talk about in terms of "everything being Marvel".
