Gee, isn't it amazing that we have a black Superboy in Smallville, Kansas where we also, coincidentally, have exactly one extremely athletic black child who's right around the same apparent age? Because this is rural Kansas? Where the African American population makes up less than 2% of the demographic?

Meh, Superman is clearly an alien so it's not even a given that people would assume he lived in Kansas or be scrutinizing the local population to discover a secret identity that they may not even suppose he's maintaining.

1) he is an alien. 2) having superman be born in a rural part of America other than Kansas would hardly be the biggest thing that a superhero adaptation has changed. 3) it's not like there's a surplus of black billionaires in America. 4) the thematic, conceptual background of Superman is a much more interesting fit for a black actor to me than Batman.

Well, there are a lot of black families in more Southern states that live in the country - they could just have him crash-land in Alabama or something. Not much difference, except that Kansas is flat and Alabama is not. Mostly.
