OR maybe it's because the people who piss and moan about historical inaccuracies only think other people are okay with it out of ignorance. So some people feel the need to say they have the knowledge and can enjoy something even if it's not historically accurate.

People who feel the need to complain about historic inaccuracies in fictional stories are the most pretentious and obnoxious people since they are the ones that feel the need to flex their knowledge to prove how stupid everyone else is for enjoying stuff.
