I really WANT to love her but I feel the actress is just...so...so blah. Given the excellent casting of the men, I'm super annoyed that MCU keeps casting bland white women for our heroes.

I'm honestly not sure if the casting's the problem, so much as the removal of nearly everything interesting about the character and leaving the actress absolutely nothing to work with. Scarlet Witch is a really interesting character, but Elizabeth Olsen isn't playing Scarlet Witch at this point anymore.

I agree completely. I feel the same way about Captain Marvel. I'd like to get excited and interested, but it seems like a very bland, safe casting to me.

Agreed, I used to love Marvel films but am getting over it. A lot of people I know feel the same way. It's all starting to feel very bland, cliched and safe to me. I'm haven't seen the Captain Marvel trailer. Would love to be excited and interested like I used to be.

All I know about the Captain Marvel trailer is that she doesn't smile in it, thereby upsetting the neckbeards on Twitter and single-handedly assuring I will go see it in theaters.
